Winning combination delivers for carousel project
23 MAY 2022
The Motive Offshore Group Rentals division (Motive) recently executed a substantial work scope for Carousel Operations in partnership with leading shipping, logistics and marine services provider GAC UK.
GAC UK were contracted to provide vessel spooling from Hartlepool with an expanded work scope which included a requirement for carousel packers and operators. The extensive project required four consecutive jobs scheduled to take place at the quayside.
Having previously worked together, GAC UK turned to Motive as a trusted supplier with specific expertise in Carousel operations.
Motive has a substantial team of multi-disciplined operators available for mobilisation globally 24/7 and were able to supply the required team of 20, including personnel with direct Carousel Operations experience.
The job required detailed project management and close liaison between Motive and GAC UK. Motive’s logistics team closely managed team schedules to ensure assigned personnel were available for fast mobilisation to accommodate the fluctuating vessel schedule.
Its previous experience working at the port meant the team already had sound knowledge of local operations and were able to assist with pre-arrival client meetings as well as advising on requirements and operations for spooling.
In addition, faced with a supply crunch of raw materials, Motive fast-tracked the manufacture of equipment paddles to enable easy manipulation of the product during loading, keeping on-site operations as efficient as possible.
The GAC UK and Motive teams were a winning combination, working flawlessly together, providing fully integrated services to deliver an efficient and well-executed project.
Motive is vastly experienced in cable load out work scopes and this project showcases exactly that. Our dedicated Project Management liaised closely with the client to ensure risks were managed and opportunities capitalised upon, whilst our Operator Team seamlessly executed the scope of work strictly in accordance with client requirements.
- David Leith, Rentals Division Manager @ Motive Offshore Group
When requested by our client to arrange the additional scope of work for carousel operators and packers, we reached out to Motive knowing they met our stringent supplier vetting process and were already well versed in the requirements at Hartlepool. Motive provided excellent service from the initial quotation and enquiry stages, right through to the completion of works onboard the vessel.
