Motive raffle nets £290 for RNLI Macduff

For the second year running Team Motive held a ‘win a day off work’ Christmas fundraiser raising money for RNLI Macduff Lifeboat Station. This year three employees will enjoy an extra day off work and we managed to exceed last year’s sum, raising an amazing £290.00.

The funds raised by Team Motive will go towards kit for new starts at the station and training for the crew. When new members join the RNLI they can take up to three years to become a fully trained crew member. On average it costs around £1,600.00 for one person to be fully kitted out.

Currently at the Macduff Lifeboat Station there are 16 volunteer members of crew. One of the toughest challenges they face is the weather, regardless of conditions - when they get a shout they have to go out!

The RNLI are separate from the coastguard and independent from government, so rely on donations and fundraising. The Macduff station has a shop which is open two days a week, Wednesday and Saturday, 2pm – 4pm from May to December. This year a coffee morning is also set to be held in aid of RNLI, along with funds coming through from the RNLI fundraising branch.
