Motive pull-in winch spread supports decarbonisation project

Featuring one of our 180Te winches, this recent mobilisation for the Northern Lights JV was captured in Norway where Motive supported on a 100km pipeline installation that will run to an offshore CO2 storage complex.

Including a 945kW containerised HPU, 220Te Overboard Sheave and Operator Control Cabin, Motive Technicians accompanied the package to deliver onshore site installation and set-up during the pipeline initiation, supporting throughout Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) pull in operations. Works included load testing the winch and carrying out the sheave arrangement, before using the winch to pull in the pipeline being deployed from a nearby vessel via an underwater tunnel.
