Business Backing Talent with Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021

We didn’t want to miss the chance during Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021 to share how incredibly proud we are of our Apprentice team!

The theme for this year’s campaign is 'Business Backing Talent', with the aim to demonstrate how businesses benefit when they back talent through apprenticeships - something which Motive has long celebrated.

Meet the Motive Apprentice team:

Scott Morrison and Graeme Morrison have each completed their SVQ PEO and begun their year 2 Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance. Connor Mair and Daniel Macrae have both recently completed year 3.

Leah Innes is based in our Sales & Marketing Department and recently completed her first year apprenticeship. Leah is now undertaking year 2 with a Business and Administration Modern Apprenticeship through North East Scotland College:

Since starting work at Motive I have gained valuable workplace experience at the same time as working towards two formal qualifications. In October I completed my first qualification with a diploma in Digital Marketing and I am now working towards my second qualification in Business & Administration. I think Modern Apprenticeships are a great way to earn money, experience and qualifications all at the same time.

Not only has our commitment to young people helped us attract very talented individuals, but it ensures as a company we build and retain specialist knowledge, and play our part in addressing the industry skills shortage.

Flowline Specialists too have a history of encouraging young people into the industry through Apprenticeship programmes and supporting career progression:

Glen Herd joined Flowline in 2020, making the move from a workshop-based role to take advantage of an opportunity to embark on a work-based learning Apprentice Draughtsperson role.

Laura Michie, Travel Training & Competence Manager, is currently into her second year of a Degree in Business Management, fully funded by the SDS Graduate Apprenticeships Programme.

So hats off this week to all our hard-working Apprentices, past and present, and wishing them all the best in their chosen careers.
