A North-east marine equipment specialist backs its local sports team

06 OCTOBER 2014

Motive Offshore, which is headquartered in Boyndie, near Banff in Aberdeenshire, has become the main sponsor for Banff Rugby Club, pledging three years sponsorship as the primary shirt sponsor.

The firm, which was established in 2010 by James Gregg and Dave Acton, will also be actively supporting the club with maintenance assistance throughout its sponsorship, to help the club attain its five year plan and become a ‘community club’ providing rugby for six-year-olds to seniors, males and females.

The club, which is celebrating its 36th anniversary year, has micro, mini, junior and senior teams and this season will host a 1st XV team, competing in the BT Caledonia League Division 3 North against teams from across the North of Scotland. Home matches are played at Duff House Sports Ground in Banff.

As a company, we are very committed and focused on supporting various initiatives within the community. Being located near Banff, we have a strong connection with the town, so wanted to do our bit and support a local and much-loved sport for people of all ages. Alongside our shirt sponsorship, we are planning to assist the club to further develop and promote its teams to become one of the leading rugby union clubs in Aberdeenshire. We are looking forward to the season ahead and can’t wait to go along to support the team and enjoy the games.

- Vivien Rae, Marketing and PR Coordinator at Motive Offshore

We are delighted to welcome Motive Offshore as our primary sponsor for the forthcoming season. It is a privilege to have the backing of such a thriving local business. This is an exciting time for the club and for the sport and we wish to give our sincerest thanks to the Motive team for pledging their support. This sponsorship will assist the club in continuing our commitment to make rugby inclusive to all within Banff and the surrounding communities. As well as supporting our thriving Minis, Micros and Senior sections we can continue to employ a part-time Club Development Officer who does a fantastic job promoting the sport to children within our local schools and training future internationals.
