As Lead Equipment Operator, your role will be to commission and operate equipment in a competent and professional manner, collaborate with project managers and offshore/onshore teams to plan equipment mobilisation and utilisation requirements.
Acting as the primary on-site/offshore point of contact for clients regarding equipment operations, the Lead Equipment Operator will lead, mentor, and supervise a team of operators and technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures. You will ensure products are operated efficiently, within the allocated scope of works and equipment operational limits. They will ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant HSEQ guidelines.
The work our Offshore team do is where everything we do, comes together. From the Manufacturing to Sales, Logistics to Finance, it all comes to fruition when you and your team are operating the equipment based on the project requirements. You’ll be the one responsible for the safe & efficient use of our equipment, and as Lead Operator, both your team, clients and subcontractors will look to you for support, guidance and expertise.

- Demobilise equipment at the worksite and prepare for shipping, completing any necessary cargo manifests.
- Trouble shoot equipment breakdowns, investigate and rectify
- Hand in project paperwork and expenses in a timely manner post project.
- Engage in any other reasonable activity as requested by Management
- To attend project briefings & de-briefings.
- To attend client inductions/HIRA’s as and when required.
- To complete online client inductions and training as and when required.
- To participate in internal and external training courses where identified.
- Attend client FAT’s when requested.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Extensive experience with flex lay equipment such as RDS, tensioners, and carousel systems, including leading operations, supervising personnel, and ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently within project specifications.
- Hydraulic experience and/or a Mechanical/Engineering Trade
- Relevant years’ experience operating machinery in offshore industry
- Must hold a valid offshore medical certificate in accordance with Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) requirements.
- Offshore certification Including OGUK survival or seamans health certificate.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise.

As an Inspection Technician, your role will involve both onshore and offshore work patterns and you would be responsible for performing and supporting on-site inspection services, load testing of Client assets and product change-outs, that may include the commissioning and operating of equipment in a safe, competent and professional manner, ensuring effective communication is maintained between various stakeholders, including but not limited to, the Client, Third Parties and internal Motive departments.

- Mobilise, operate, and demobilise spooling and associated equipment in line with project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues both onshore and offshore.
- Working in the workshop on occasion to support mob/demob of equipment.
- Complete required onsite paperwork such as post installation checks& maintenance records.
- Complete Daily Client Service Record (DCSR) sheets in full, with accurate times and descriptions obtaining signed approval from the client.
- Hand in project paperwork and expenses to Operations Lead in a timely manner post project.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Where applicable Suitable NDT certification (SNT or PCN Level II). Training can be provided in house.
- Offshore certification.
- Experience operating machinery in accordance with above tasks.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Mechanical and hydraulic experience preferred, with basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and components
- Good IT and reporting skills.

The Hydraulic Technician will inspect, repair, assemble and test hydraulic equipment as required in accordance with company procedures. They will undertake a variety of tasks that involve the manufacture and maintenance of hydraulic systems. The post holder will ensure products are manufactured efficiently, within the allocated delivery schedule as per operational planner and ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.
As a Hydraulic Technician for Motive, you'll become part of a team that has a significant impact on what we do as a business globally. The work you do ensures our Equipment runs safely and the key responsibilities you will have every day will see you become involved in some key projects for our clients. As a part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll become part of a hardworking, and skilled team who are always working to high standards and specifications. You will be supported by our Hydraulic Chargehand, and have a team of skilled Hydraulic Technicians working alongside you, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.
And you’ll be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team in the UK and globally that want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values driven and hard-working professional environment.

- Inspect and overhaul valves, motors, pumps and other hydraulic components.

- Maintain housekeeping in workshop. Ensure all work areas are clean and tidy including company transport.
- Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used.
- Learn to understand assembly drawings complete with bills of material and hydraulic schematics.
- Report any problems that have occurred or any questions that you may have to the Production Manager.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Clean driving license.
- Time served/significant experience in a hydraulic technician role.
- Proficient in stainless steel tube bending is desirable.
- Hydraulic fault finding & diagnosis would be advantageous.

- HNC (or equivalent) in engineering trade or relevant trade experience.

The Lead Offshore Technician will be responsible for commission and operation of equipment in a competent and professional manner, as well as being responsible for performing testing/maintenance/inspection scopes while always communicating effectively with the client and Operations Department. Sometimes these tasks will be handled alone, and sometimes the lead technician will be responsible for coordinating teams of technicians.
The Lead Offshore Technician will ensure products are operated efficiently, within the allocated scope of works and equipment operational limits. They will ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant HSEQ guidelines. Responsible for the completion of and processing of mobilisation /demobilisation paperwork also

You’ll be joining our Motive team, who are mainly based in Stavanger. Over the past few years, this team has grown significantly as Motive continues to expand, and our intention is to continue this. You’ll be working alongside an operations team that strive for high quality service of work.

Responsibilities:
People
- Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
- Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc
- Provides guidance and mentoring to other Offshore Technicians.
- Provide supervision to other Offshore Technicians when required
- To ensure client assistance and satisfaction at all times
- To liaise and build rapport with the client whilst at the worksite.

- Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
- Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns
- Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.
Product
- Conduct subsea testing operations, including setup, monitoring, and execution of subsea equipment testing activities in line with project specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare, install, operate, and demobilise equipment on-site, ensuring all checks, maintenance, and operational procedures are completed.
- Mobilisation of all rental fleet equipment in accordance with the Rental Equipment Mobilisation and Demobilisation procedure.
- Demobilising of all off hire equipment returning to onshore in accordance with the Rental Equipment Mobilisation and Demobilisation procedure.
- Upkeep of and completion of demobilisation paperwork including the recording of missing or damaged equipment.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including service/maintenance records, cargo manifests, timesheets, and project paperwork, ensuring all records are uploaded to company systems.
- Conduct stock checks at worksites, reporting and communicating any discrepancies or damage to the client and company.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, liaising with the company where required to investigate and resolve faults.
- Undertaking required repairs, alterations or maintenance of equipment on site.
- Testing of equipment including flow / pressure testing hydraulic systems and flushing
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, team members, and clients, including participation in project briefings, debriefings, inductions, and FAT processes (onshore/offshore as required).
- Complete required training (internal, external, and client-specific) and comply with all safety and operational procedures, including HIRA requirements.
- Submit all project documentation and expenses in a timely manner following project completion.
- Ability to read, understand and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements of the task in hand.
- Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Offshore certification Including Norwegian applicable medical, Norwegian Escape Chute, EBS course or any other required certification required to work offshore in Norway.
- Must be eligible for work in Norway; holding either an EU passport or a Norwegian residency permit.
- Must be a qualified electrician.
- Experience within Fibre Optics.
- Mechanical and hydraulic experience.
- Good knowledge of hydraulic components is essential.
- Relevant experience operating machinery in offshore industry.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Good IT skills are a must.
- Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
- The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation.

Reporting to our APAC Regional Manager, the Workshop manager will be responsible for ensuring effective planning, coordination and management all activities related to Motive Offshore Group Rental Fleet services & operations for our APAC region.
This role will also be responsible for the effective running of the rental equipment and ensuring products are maintained, operated efficiently, ready for client hire within the allocated delivery schedule as per rental planner.
Growing our services and support for clients in APAC region is key for us and our Singapore workshop and our team are key for that. As Workshop Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our Singapore workshop and rental fleet operations are built and run. You’ll have real ownership, the chance to influence processes, build a strong team, and set standards that will support offshore projects across the region.

You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative team, with key operations based in the APAC region. As our Motive team continues to expand, our APAC region plays an integral role in supporting the business's operations across the wider Asia region.

Equipment Management
- Planning the personnel, material and facilities resources required to fulfil the project schedule.
- Attend project briefings & de-briefings and carry out pre and post shift toolbox talks
- Offloading equipment returned from client locations & quarantining and tagging off hire equipment in line with the Product Identification and Tagging Procedure.
- Ensure proper commission of equipment at worksite and perform load test operations as per the clients’ requirements, completing all necessary paperwork.
- Upkeep of and completion of demobilisation paperwork including the recording of missing or damaged equipment
- Performing and documenting inspections of demobbed equipment
- Identifying and undertaking required repairs and maintenance of demobbed equipment
- Servicing and undertaking planned preventive maintenance of the rental fleet equipment and any other equipment deemed necessary.
- Testing of equipment including flow / pressure testing hydraulic systems and flushing
- Mobilisation, Demobilising of all hire equipment returning to onshore in accordance with the Rental Equipment Mobilisation and Demobilisation procedure.
- Ability to read, understand and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements of the task in hand.
- Identify and provide appropriate tools and equipment, instruction and technical data to operatives.
- Assist in the Mobilisation and FAT process as and when required.
Operations Management
- Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programmes.
- Supervising, planning and controlling the activities of the workshop department, associated support and vendor personnel.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the process systems in the workshop.
- Have overall responsibility for all activities performed in the Rental Fleet.
- Ensure employees are suitably trained and experienced for the task they are allocated.
- Ensure proper off hire of returned equipment; ensure stocktake of equipment on arrival at worksite, communicating any anomalies and or damage to the Project Team
- Maintain communication with Regional Manager with regards to the schedule of projects, and resources required to complete rental projects.
- Liaise with Project Team to confirm project deliverables.
- Ensure all equipment certification, documentation is complete prior to equipment leaving site.
- To liaise and build rapport with the client whilst at the worksite.
- Complete required onsite paperwork such as posts installation checks & maintenance records.
- Participate in and ensure safe systems of work (e.g. risk assessments) are in place and understood by all direct reports and subcontractors
- Maintain a tidy, hazard-free workshop environment.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of & experience working with Reel Drive Systems and Hydraulic Tensioners
- Experience of working in similar role, leading workshop operations & a team within the Oil & Gas & energy sector
- A background in Mechanical Engineering with experience of servicing equipment.
- Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities.
- The ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation.
- Be action orientated, demonstrative drive for results and show motivation to inspire others.
