Due to continued growth, we are looking for two Modern Apprentices to join us for an amazing opportunity within our Engineering Team, based at Boyndie.
Location: Boyndie, Aberdeenshire
Hours: Permanent Full Time - 40 hours per week
Are you keen and willing to learn, with a positive and “can-do” attitude? Then this is the role for you!
The Engineering Apprentices will work towards achieving all the mentioned responsibilities to the department they are assigned, performing a key role in the smooth running of production, and working efficiently and competently to ensure that tasks are completed as per the company Work in Progress (WIP) List. The postholder will ensure products are manufactured efficiently, within the allocated delivery schedule as per the operational planner, and ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.
Please note: our Engineering Apprenticeships consist of a rotation which will ensure you are equipped with an overall knowledge of the full workings of the Engineering department. Depending on where you feel your interest lies, and a full appraisal from the Managers of each of the areas, if successful in your Apprenticeship, you will be assigned to a department and offered a permanent role, if available.
Responsibilities:
Machine Shop
- Perform operations on machine tools, including drill presses, lathes, milling machines, boring machines, and grinding machines to produce parts and components
- Review engineering drawings and specifications of a particular product and plan the production process, including where and how to cut the work piece, the correct tools and materials for the job, and the sequence of steps to follow in production of the product
- Ensure the work piece is machined within tolerances stated in the engineering drawing using precision measuring instruments. Ensure that all measuring instruments have been calibrated and there is proof of records stating that. Ensure actual tolerance is recorded in the drawing
- Aware of all machine controls, operations, and maintenance procedures, carrying out and recording all maintenance activities. Inform the factory manager if there are any non-conformances, take any action to correct
- Raise supplier requisitions for any consumable items and any other shortfall materials
- Communicate with other departments within operations
- Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders – clients, colleagues, etc

Fabrication Department
- Set up, layout, and tack up various weldments within tolerances stated in production drawings
- To undertake MIG, Flux core welding according to production drawing

A vacancy has arisen for the position of a Hydraulic Technician at the Motive Base in Boyndie.

The Hydraulic Technician will inspect, repair, assemble and test hydraulic equipment as required in accordance with company procedures. They will be required to undertake a variety of tasks that involve the manufacture and maintenance of various hydraulic systems. The post holder will ensure that our products are manufactured efficiently and within the allocated delivery schedule.

Due to continued company expansion, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Administrator to join our Sharjah-based team to be an integral member of the Spooling & Inspection team.
Location: Saif Zone, Sharjah, UAE
Hours: Permanent Full Time – 40 hours
The Operations Administrator will provide clerical and administrative support to the Spooling & Inspection department to ensure a smooth transition and running of upcoming and active projects.
Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support to the Inspection Manager
- Ensuring records & certification within the Kinetic system remain current

A vacancy has arisen for the position of an Electrical Design Engineer on a Hybrid basis, with travel to Motive sites, as required.

The Electrical Design Engineer will carry out electrical system design, manufacturing, maintenance, and modification activities in support of Motive’s product lines. We are looking for someone with a hands-on approach to electrical engineering, as well as experience in designing electrical and associated control systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage electrical system design, manufacturing, maintenance, and modification activities on new build and existing equipment
- To ensure clarity of understanding and confirmation of client requirements, specifications, and expectations, before commencing work
- Produce concept designs/layouts for electrical, electronic and control systems for initial quoting, design review and product manufacture or modification. Product lines/equipment types included, but are not limited to: Winches, HPU’s, Under Rollers, Turntables, Tensioners, Level Winds, etc

Due to an increase in workload and unprecedented growth, our Rentals division is looking to recruit an additional Rentals Project Coordinator to support our operations.

Reporting to the Rentals Project Engineer, the Project Coordinator is an integral member of the project team responsible for organising parts lists and materials. The Project Coordinator is responsible for directing, organising, and controlling project activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with determination of project requirements
- Assist the Project Engineer in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, tenders, budgets, cash flows, and preliminary schedules
